Chakraborty is facing prosecution in a drug case registered by the Narcotic Control Bureau (NCB) in 2020, following actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has opposed any relief being granted to actor Rhea Chakraborty who had approached the Bombay High Court seeking suspension of a Look Out Circular (LOC) issued against her by the agency.
Advocates Abhinav Chandrachud and Prasanna Bhangale, appearing for Chakraborty, told the court that CBI had registered the FIR, but never summoned the actor for questioning nor filed any chargesheet and nothing has happened in the case in the past three years.
They said that Chakraborty needed to travel to Dubai for few days for the purpose of a brand endorsement and so was seeking suspension of the LOC for a few days.
